Kenya Marine and Fisheries Research Institute supports green entrepreneurship by undertaking research that supports the sustainable use of natural resources within the blue economy. Through the Mikoko Pamoja Initiative spearheaded by Dr. Kairo, a chief researcher at the institution, the local communities are able to make money by planting and conserving mangroves. KMFRI also collaborates with institutions that support green entrepreneurship and also undertakes EIAs prior to project implementation. Supporting the use of green technologies by the local communities through value additional research.
